Good Times

Our son Chris, his wife Maria, and our beautiful granddaughter Sofia, will be flying out tonight at 8pm from West Palm Airport, to spend a week here.

My son has work, and will meet them at the airport.  Then they have a car rented at Newark airport, and will drive in from there.  We will see them tomorrow morning, we are meeting for breakfast, then will spent the day at the Lake with all the family.  Maria's Mom and Dad own a lakefront home, so it will be a great day, away from the oppressive heat forcast for the next few days.

I am so excited to see them!  We miss them so!

The fourth of July is hubby and my 45th anniversary!  It seems impossible!  But the Lord has blessed us, and we are thankful!

I am not sure how much internet time I will have this week, I want to spend as much time as I can with them.

One of my favorite pictures of Sofia!

Guess what?

Yes, it is pouring out!  Yesterday, when I checked my app on the phone, it was only a 30%  chance of rain around 2 pm.  It has been pouring since 8 am!!

I still haven't  figured  out why my font changed to unbelievably tiny on Blogger, but I will try the hints Lori and Susan gave me. It is very hard on my eyes being this small!

We had planned on cooking and eating outside.  I made a macaroni salad, hubs has hot dogs and spare ribs to grill.  I just put my blueberry/lemon poundcake in to bake.  I made a terrible mess in my kitchen that I just cleaned up.... took the beaters out of the bowl, before they stopped!  Needless to say, after cleaning up that mess again, I am giving myself a break!

I tossed in my winter comforter, and changed over to my summer, and I am washing the winter now and will put it away, so I can spend time on my Blogger while waiting!

This is our Sofia during her latest competition!  She took a first place, second place, fourth place and
reserve champion, which means overall...second place!

We are so proud!  She is only 7, and was bumped up to girls who compete at 9 to 12 years old!  Her teachers, or trainers, not sure what they are called, see potential in her!  The horse she rides, is called Simon, who is the sweetest, loving horse imaginable!

This is one of my birthday presents from my hubby!  I  love these lanterns!  The candle is one that flickers!

Noat sure what I did now, but the Blogger  page just got smaller!

Bye Bye

Happy Sunday!

Blessings to all my friends!

What a change in the weather!  Last night, it was so hot and muggy, both hubs and I were unable to sleep!  I was up in my chair from around 1 am to 5 am.  I woke up drenched in "dew", and hubs wasn't there.  I went looking for him and found him on the couch with the living room windows all open and he was sleeping there!

I read my bible, prayed, played games on my ipad!  Till 5 am!  The heavy rains finally started blowing in a wind that cooled it some.  So I finally returned to bed, and got an hours sleep.  Needless to say, I am exhausted today, and I had some food to prepare for tomorrows picnic at our niece's, and well as today's meals!  And two zucchini raisin cakes, because I had taken my frozen zucchini packs out of the freezer yesterday to thaw in the fridge and they needed to be used!  I still have about 12, 2 cup packs frozen!!

Here is a picture of one of the Million Bell hanging baskets my sons got me for Mother's Day.  The other is a rusty orangish color.  Both are so beautiful!  And huge, it doesn't look like it here, but i was only taking one side of the basket.  I was trying to see if a plant identifier app worked on my phone, but it didn't!

We ran to Walmart today for some filler annuals for some of our baskets, and we also purchased a cardinal birds favorite seed.  For the life of me, I can't think of the name.  All I know is that there are black seeds in it.  Well, the cardinals are going crazy for it!

I also put out all my hummingbird feeders.  Hubs saw a water fountain you can make for the hummingbirds, he will make.  It provides them fresh water, and a resting place.  I will take pics when it is finished.  I have to order the solar floating water fountain for it.

Thanks for your help with the font Toni, I followed your directions and it worked!!

Time to put on some coffee, so I will visit tomorrow!

Mike's Graduation

I can't believe that we ALL forgot cameras!! We were running around like crazy, baking, getting things set up.... and we forgot cameras! I told hubby I would drive back home, but Mike said not to worry about it, and just have a good time.

I brought his graduation pics, awards he won, his training awards for firefighting, all kinds of things, pics, etc, and set up a lovely table. He was impressed, as well as his girlfriend Amy. She is such a sweetheart. I am going to have to get pics moved to this laptop so I can post things. This dumb Vista, will not work with our older printer, and I can't find any updates that will allow it to work together, and I refuse to buy another printer till this one breaks.

The food was all wonderful, and we all had a great time. Mike made out well, which we are so glad for him. He banked most of everything today. I must say, he does have a good head on his shoulders.

I had a bit of a cry several times yesterday. Our baby! I can't believe how fast these years have gone by! All 3 of our sons are special to us, but Mike was the baby. There are 16 and 13 years between him and our other two sons!! He has sure blessed all our lives!

It's raining out again now! And thunderstorms are predicted for late tonight! Our grass is growing like crazy! Hubby can't keep it cut fast enough!!

I am so very happy with how this journal is coming out. I need to figure how to post graphics in the posts...that way, when you guys send me seasonal/holiday gifties, I can post them here, since I can't make pages. I will figure it out eventually! LOL

Well, time to fold clothes! It just never ends.
